DVA MINI, DVA T8 e DVA 1518N at the main door of MILANO EXPO2015
Pavilion 0 is the first impressive stop-over for thousands of visitor at EXPO2015 in Milan. Curated by Davide Rampello (former director of Triennale di Milano art exhibition) and designed by Michele Lucchi, Pavilion 0 reproduces the Earth crust and is dedicated to the main theme of the Expo: food and nutrition.
The main hall of the Pavilion is called "The Archive of the World" and reproduces a huge wooden library 46 meters wide and nearly 20 meters tall.
Alessandro Rossetti, owner of Pixies Sound, was charged to provide a suitable sound reinforcement system for the Pavilion. "The soundrack of the main hall is a kind of litany, sung and spoken by human voices." says Rossetti. We needed a system powerful enough to guarantee a perfect intelligibility from every listening position, without affecting the overall design of the library.
I'm a DVA MINI aficionado, since I use it both as a sound reinforcement system for meetings and conventions and small live music performances. DVA mini has an excellent SPL/dimensions ratio and a sober design that could be hidden behind the installation. So we flew 3 couples of DVA MINI (3 master modules + 3 slave modules) per side. The result is excellent."
The second room of Pavilion Zero is dedicated to the projection of the film "Pastorale Cilentana" by Italian director Mario Martone. "The videowall is huge (50X21 meters) and we needed a powerful sound reinforcement system: once again we chose dBTechnologies active systems. We placed 5 couples of DVA T8 and 2 subwoofers DVA 15 18 N on the floor, hidden behind the videowall." says Rossetti.
The itinerary inside the Pavilion 0 continues with a series of installations inspired to the main themes of the event: food, agricolture, farming, nutrition etc. "For smaller sound system we chose MINIBOX L160D: it's so small and discreet and can be easily flown or hidden in order to deliver impressive soundscapes."
