Demos Days in Spain
5/6/2013
dBTechnologies unveiled its brand-new DVA T8 line array on April 24 and 25 at El Escorial near Madrid, Spain.
The exclusive two-day event was attended by 70 pro audio customers who had traveled from all over Spain to witness the PA’s premiere.
The spacious grounds of a resort offered plenty of room and the perfect weather for demonstrating two cabinets, the DVA T8 and DVA T12, and three bass bins, the DVA S2585N cardioid, DVA S30 and DVA S1521N 21" subwoofers.
Other dBTechnologies systems also featured prominently at the showing: DVX series stage monitors, the new Opera Black Line and the L160D unit for multimedia and live applications were set up for guests to experience and enjoy.
The demos were staged by dBTechnologies’ head of R&D Claudio Ottani, acoustics development engineer Roberto Savegnago, and product specialist Marco Cantalú who had made their way to Spain from Italy to showcase these units’ audio performance.
Workshops on DVA Composer software and RDNet were also on the agenda.
DVA Composer is an array calculator developed specifically for dBTechnologies DVA line array systems.
RDNet is dBTechnologies’ proprietary protocol for managing and monitoring the company’s powered systems.
After current and prospective DVA users and customers attended the first day’s workshops on DVA Composer and RDNet, the guests wound down with a casual get-together featuring live music, followed by dinner.
Then a DJ put the new dBTechnologies Sigma system through its paces in an impressive demonstration of power and endurance.
A demo of the DVA line array topped the second day’s agenda.
The new DVA T8 and DVA T12 with matching subwoofers put on a riveting show.
The S2585N cardioid subwoofers’ performance also caused quite a stir among the crowd. Engineered to achieve maximum low-frequency directivity, its unusual design enables users to configure unprecedented subwoofer arrays.
The schedule left plenty of time after the presentations for some hands-on testing, Q&As and talking shop, all of which was emceed by the experts on the dBTechnologies engineering team.
At the end of the day, all the guests and the organizing team from dBTechnologies Germany headed up by Cliff Reichardt, market manager for Spain, and sales managers Raúl Ablanque and Juan Miguel Ramonde were delighted with the outcome.
“The Demo Days were a resounding success! The feedback on the featured systems, demos and workshops was most affirmative, and we have already received the first orders for the new DVA systems.
The superb support provided by the manufacturer enabled us to stage a compelling and informative end-to-end program that few, if any, manufacturers can match in these parts,” says Cliff Reichardt. “We’re already looking forward to the next Demo Days!”
