The largest indoor events facility in Italy is getting ready for the comeback of big live music events and upgrades its PA system. A project born from a partnership with dBTechnologies whose result is the integration of a large VIO line array system.
"The largest theater in Italy" is just one of the many definitions to describe it. Designed on the model of the largest and most prestigious European cultural and sports centers, Unipol Arena is divided into modular and multifunctional spaces that can accommodate up to 20,000 seats. In fact, it is the largest and most modern facility for indoor events in Italy. Born as live music facility, over the years it has hosted concerts of the greatest Italian and international artists, as well as being home to the championship games of the Basketball League, and offering equipped spaces for conventions, television sets, art exhibitions, trade fairs, galas, theatrical performances, cultural events, competitions and sporting events of all kinds.
Given several major events scheduled for the upcoming months, Unipol Arena has stated the need for an upgrade of its resident audio system. This is how the partnership with dBTechnologies and a project of total renewal of the PA was born.

The project was achieved by the installation of a complete VIO PA, designed to ensure the best acoustic coverage for different kind of events, ranging from meetings and corporate events up to sport events and big concerts. To cover the main space of the arena, 11 VIO L208 line array clusters, for a total of 61 modules, have been installed at a height of 20m. In addition, a VIO L212 line array system, divided into 2 clusters of 12 modules, covers the South tribune area, so that it can serve as a resident delay system for external production events. The same system can be moved to the stage area and act as a main system, completed by 12 VIO S218 subwoofers. Also, the conference area has been equipped with a PA system consisting of 7 VIO X205-100, which acts both as a stand-alone PA for meetings and limited capacity events, and as a delay system during concerts in the main venue.
All installed VIO systems are enabled for remote monitoring and real-time control via Aurora Net software.
