The alpine hut Almhütte is the new cultural and event location in the
Funpark Landau (Germany). It offers space for up to 370 people and is mainly used for professional events. However, it is also the perfect location for company celebrations, birthdays, anniversaries, etc.
Marco Schmitt from Schmitt Eventequipment in Ludwigswinkel (Germany) is responsible for installing and supporting all event technology in the location. Schmitt, one of dBTechnologies’ longest-standing customers in the region, relies exclusively on active and passive audio components from dBTechnologies used for sound reinforcement at the indoor and outdoor areas. The interior features a central stage for bands and DJs to perform on. As horizontal line arrays, 2 VIO C12 hang to the right and left of the stage, completed by VIO X10 units as centre and delay speakers. 5 VIO S118R sub speakers are located under the stage pedestal for the necessary bass power. Special lounges in the audience area are equipped with 5 VIO X205-100 units.
The complete sound system is designed as a fixed installation but can also be extended for open-air events, depending on requirements.
In the outdoor area, Marco Schmitt opted for a mix of passive and active components from dBTechnologies, working perfectly together. The outdoor bar is sounded with active Ingenia IG2T loudspeakers, supplemented by SUB 915 subwoofers and VIO X10 2-way loudspeakers as delay units, while 4x LVX12 units (in passive design) are placed in the extended outdoor area.
Marco Schmitt is pleased with the successful installation using dBTechnologies equipment and the cooperation: “I have always thought a lot of dBTechnologies, have attended several seminars in Cologne and in the daily cooperation I particularly like the family spirit and the support given by the team. In addition, and of course not to be underestimated, the quality of the products is just perfect. The VIO loudspeakers, part of the range for several years, always convince me with their compactness, craft quality, handling and sound characteristics.”
Schmitt uses the dBTechnologies installation as a house system for live bands to get their venue sound in daily operation. He controls all components via the dBTechnologies Aurora Net software.
“I chose the arrangements and the levelling of the system to gain perfect intelligibility everywhere in the hut. There’s nothing worse than when it’s deafening in front of a venue’s stage, and the rest is just overshadowed by bass. We have avoided that very well here. The Aurora Net control system plays an important role here, along with the loudspeakers’ performance and the customisable characteristics,” says Schmitt about the overall result.
