Recently, the world’s first iQIYI Park officially opened in Yangzhou. The 360° rotating immersive theatre dedicated to the hit IP Mysterious Lotus Casebook has quickly become a major attraction within the cultural and tourism landscape, thanks to live performances, digitally controlled flying systems, and a high-level immersive audio experience. The Italian professional audio brand dBTechnologies, based in Bologna, contributed with a tailored sound reinforcement solution, creating a seamless, high-fidelity, and deeply immersive listening experience capable of fully conveying the narrative intensity of the wuxia world.
As the core of the theatre’s audio infrastructure, the sound system was precisely configured using dBTechnologies active loudspeakers: the main system features 5 IG2T active column speakers and 7 VIO X205 active full-range speakers; monitoring is handled by 5 VIO X205 units, while low-frequency support is provided by 2 SUB 915 active subwoofers. The entire system, characterised by its compact footprint, flexible deployment, and outstanding audio quality, perfectly meets the dynamic acoustic requirements of a 360° rotating stage.
A 360° rotating theatre presents significant challenges in terms of sound field uniformity, directivity control, and dynamic response: the audience continuously moves along with the narrative, while the performers’ positions change dynamically. It is therefore essential to ensure that every spectator, from any angle, experiences clear speech intelligibility, full musical reproduction, and impactful low frequencies.
From the emotional nuance of dialogue to the intensity of action scenes, from the immersive spatiality of environmental sound to the expressive depth of the soundtrack, dBTechnologies loudspeakers — thanks to their linear phase response, low distortion, and high fidelity — allow sound to follow the movement of the stage seamlessly, creating an immersive effect where “sound moves with the performers and the scene evolves with it.” The entire system was deployed efficiently and configured with ease, featuring intelligent control for real-time monitoring and precise calibration, fully meeting the operational demands of a high-density, high-reliability immersive theatre, and successfully translating cinematic audio quality into a real-world environment.
