A highly evocative, enchanting place, rich in history and ancestral memories, magical and fascinating, where one of the symbols of the primordial era becomes a home for contemporary art and culture merging the present and future of the musical and artistic scenario: the
Tuunaansaari Cave, dug inside the former "
Retretti" art gallery.
This site has quickly become popular in recent years also thanks to its indoor concert hall, which has been the favorite stage for several performances of some of the most famous Finnish bands such as: Stam1na, Elastinen, Popeda, Olavi Uusivirta, Kotiteollisuus, and many others.
In this place, where music is one of the central elements of entertainment, the main PA is featuring VIO Series technology, chosen by Gaia Music as the responsible for the sound and lighting of the venue. Gaia Music is an experienced audio company founded in 1999 and operates today with expertise and special care on every single detail that contributes to create the charm and functionality of events dedicated to medium, large and demanding audiences. The company has long relied on VIO/dBTechnologies systems through the use of the VIO L208 line array and the VIO S118R subwoofer, plus the VIO X205 and VIO X10 loudspeakers, solutions that provide effectiveness and versatility to a unique acoustic environment, characterized by a configuration of different spaces with dimensional variety and diversified needs.
The location presents, in fact, a peculiar and complex architectural structure: it is a real cave of 5,000 square meters with a total length of 1.3 km with a concert area of 1,000 seats located 30 m underground and embellished with sculptures and engravings that recall different phases of human art. This cave complex is a unique space for any kind of event in Punkaharju and a real landmark for culture and night-life as it also includes food and beverage services.
Punkaharju's famous artificial caves, where art exhibitions were held for almost 30 years, came back to life in 2018 thanks to the project sponsored by Holiday Resort - Harjun Portti and Keiku Ry, who promoted an agreement to organize events, concerts, and festivals on a regular basis in the Kalliosali area of the Cave.
Today, all productions and associations create events and happenings under the common brand Luola Events.
The pics were shot in early 2020 when in Finland the recent safety measures hadn’t affected locals and entertainment venues with restrictions and regulations yet.
