VIO L208 powers the Reiterhof Stückler for the 2021 Equitron-Pro Grand Prix of Austria
The fact that the
VIO systems from dBTechnologies also cut a fine figure in the horse riding arena is proofed at the events held at the equestrian farm "
Reiterhof Stückler" in Carinthia, Austria. The location is now one of the largest organisers of equestrian events in Austria, with the most prominent arena covering around 9,000 square metres. In addition to many tournaments, other events also take place in the outdoor and indoor areas. To provide the perfect sound for music and speech at equestrian events on the showground and show jumping arena,
Thomas Stückler decided to use dBTechnologies VIO series components. Depending on the event, the VIO systems are used differently or set up in different configurations. Since Stückler already uses Ingenia systems indoors, he contacted dBTechnologies for equipment to be used in the outdoor area.
According to Thomas Stückler, the excellent sound, perfect handling (also with the software products), low weight, versatile application possibilities, unbeatable price/performance ratio and top service convinced him immediately.
For the finals of the 2021 Equitron-Pro Grand Prix of Austria, he decided to install 8 VIO L208 as a line array to provide sound reinforcement for the spectators seated in 80 - 100 metres distance around the showground. 2 VIO S218 subs in cardioid configuration complemented the main line array. For the preparation area, Stückler placed 2 VIO X10 as delay speakers so that the riders preparing for the respective competition could also understand everything nicely. Additional 2 VIO X205 were used on the grandstands with 60° coverage.
Stückler paid particular attention to the sophisticated coverage of the respective courts. "Often we organise two tournaments at the same time (show jumping/dressage), where the same music plays everywhere but two different speakers speak on one court each. It is important to make sure that the speaker from the showjumping arena can only be heard at the showjumping arena and viceversa," Thomas Stückler explains the use of the systems.
Due to his studies of music and his passion for sound engineering, Thomas Stückler already has previous knowledge in sound enforcement. Therefore, he took care of systems planning himself and designed special outdoor-suitable boxes for power, signal and network, which are placed at five locations around the grounds to ensure the flexible arrangement of the systems. He uses dBTechnologies' dB Composer and Aurora Net software for planning and control, which greatly simplify setup, dismantling, and setup for changing events.
Thomas Stückler on the use of the software: "It's great to work with the software, and since the situations, i.e. the tournament sections, are always changing for us, we have to rebuild for the individual situation. Using the software, you configure everything once, and the next time you can recall the saved presets, and you don't have to do everything again. That saves a huge amount of time."
