What Client Says

Twenty years in, MI AMI Festival continues to define the sound of contemporary Italian music. Known as the “Festival of Beautiful Music and Kisses,” the event returned to Milan’s iconic Idroscalo venue from May 21–24, 2026, celebrating its landmark 20th edition with five stages, more than 80 performances and four days of nonstop live music, discovery and community. Over the years, MI AMI has grown from an independent music gathering into one of Italy’s most influential festivals, bringing together established artists, emerging talents and thousands of passionate music fans in a uniquely vibrant atmosphere.

For this special anniversary edition, Losito Music Service and MusicLab Milano delivered the audio infrastructure across four of the festival’s stages, providing tailored dBTechnologies solutions designed to match the different audience sizes, artistic formats and acoustic requirements of each performance area.

The festival’s largest production area, the ING Stage, hosted many of the event’s headline performances. To cover the extensive audience area with power, clarity and consistency, Losito Music Service deployed a system comprising 32 VIO L212 modules configured as two hangs of 16 elements per side. Low-frequency energy was supplied by 28 S218 subwoofers, while 16 VIO L208 units provided front-fill coverage and additional side reinforcement. The result was a massive yet controlled sound field capable of delivering the impact required by modern festival productions while maintaining excellent intelligibility throughout the audience area.

The Idealista Stage featured a configuration built around 16 VIO L212 modules, flown as two arrays of eight elements per side, supported by 12 S218 subwoofers and 8 VIO L208 front-fill systems. Designed to accommodate a diverse lineup of emerging and established artists, the system delivered the punch, definition and coverage needed to maintain a consistent listening experience from the front barrier to the rear audience zones.

For the more intimate but equally energetic Quanto Stage, Losito Music Service specified a compact yet highly effective setup consisting of 12 VIO L208 modules, six per side, paired with 8 S118 subwoofers and 2 additional VIO L208 units for front-fill coverage. The configuration provided exceptional intelligibility and musicality, perfectly suited to a stage dedicated to showcasing new voices and rising talents.

The WeRoad Stage, managed by MusicLab Milano, required a different design approach. Covering an audience area approximately 50 metres deep by 30 metres wide, the system was engineered to deliver uniform SPL and tonal consistency across the entire listening zone. The main PA consisted of 24 VIO L1610 systems, flown in hangs of 12 per side, supported by 12 VIO S218 subwoofers and 8 VIO L1608 front-fill units.

To maximize coverage, the main arrays were flown at a height of approximately nine metres and aimed with generous overshoot, ensuring even dispersion and improved low-mid frequency projection throughout the audience area. Low-frequency management was handled through an arc-array configuration using stacks of two VIO S218 subwoofers in cardioid mode, minimizing rear energy on stage and preserving mix clarity for performers and engineers alike. Front-row coverage was entrusted to the highly efficient VIO L1608 systems, guaranteeing a seamless transition between near-field and long-throw listening zones.

System management for the WeRoad Stage was handled via a DirectOut Prodigy MP matrix, which provided signal routing and distribution throughout the PA infrastructure, while tuning, optimization and delay alignment were carried out using Aurora Net, dBTechnologies’ proprietary control software.

Across four distinct stages and countless performances, the deployed VIO systems delivered the speed, flexibility and sonic consistency required by one of Italy’s most dynamic multi-stage festivals. From the expansive energy of the ING Stage to the carefully controlled coverage of the WeRoad Stage, the systems provided the reliability and performance necessary to support four days of music in one of the country’s most beloved festival environments.

At MI AMI 2026, technology worked quietly behind the scenes, allowing artists, audiences and performances to take center stage—exactly as it should.
