What Client Says

In a city where basketball is woven into its cultural identity, the MuBit – Italian Basketball Museum stands as a place where sporting heritage is preserved, interpreted, and brought to life. More than a permanent exhibition, the museum offers an immersive journey through the history of Italian basketball, where archival material, multimedia installations and storytelling converge to celebrate the game and its enduring legacy.

Within an environment where sound is an essential component of the visitor experience, ACUSON developed an audio system that combines architectural discretion, operational flexibility and uncompromising intelligibility, relying entirely on the dBTechnologies installation portfolio.
The project was conceived around three independent audio systems, each designed to fulfil a distinct function while coexisting seamlessly within the same space.

The first system provides dedicated playback for the museum's multimedia exhibits, ensuring that every audiovisual installation retains its own sonic identity and allowing visitors to engage with each story in complete clarity.
Running in parallel, a second system delivers carefully distributed background music, enriching the atmosphere without competing with the exhibition content. Ceiling-mounted loudspeakers contribute to a smooth and unobtrusive sound field, maintaining consistency throughout the visitor route while remaining fully integrated within the architectural design.
The third system is dedicated to conferences, presentations and public events. Two fixed reinforcement systems, each covering opposite directions and sharing a common low-frequency foundation, provide the flexibility required to transform the exhibition space into a fully equipped venue for talks, educational activities and cultural gatherings.
To meet these diverse operational requirements, ACUSON deployed 20 IS4T, 8 IS6T, 4 ceiling-mounted IS8S, 4 VIO X206 loudspeakers and 1 VIO S118 subwoofer, creating a unified audio infrastructure capable of adapting to multiple applications while preserving a coherent acoustic identity throughout the museum.

The result is an installation where technology quietly enhances the narrative rather than competing with it. Every loudspeaker contributes to an experience in which history, emotion and innovation coexist naturally, allowing the voice of Italian basketball to be heard with the clarity and respect it deserves.
