For a CITYCHURCH worship production in Tallahassee, Florida, Overflo Productions deployed a large-format dBTechnologies VIO system inside a 13,000-capacity arena configured for three-quarter seating.
The system consisted of 24 VIO L1610 large-format line array modules, 20 VIO L208 compact line array elements, 12 VIO S218 dual-18-inch subwoofers, and five VIO X205 point-source loudspeakers used for supplemental coverage and front-fill reinforcement.
The system configuration was designed to provide consistent coverage across the arena seating areas while maintaining tonal continuity between the primary and complementary loudspeaker systems.
VIO L1610 modules served as the primary large-format line array system, while VIO L208 elements extended coverage to additional audience areas. VIO S218 subwoofers provided low-frequency reinforcement for the live music program, and VIO X205 loudspeakers were deployed where localized coverage was required.
The production included live worship music, spoken word, lighting, and large-scale visual elements, requiring the audio system to maintain vocal intelligibility across speech-focused segments while also providing the output and low-frequency extension required for full-band musical content.
Taylor Bishop served as System Technician, overseeing deployment and system optimization. Michael Keith Lewis handled FOH responsibilities. The production used an Allen & Heath Avantis console platform with network infrastructure built around a Ubiquiti Dream Machine environment.
Overflo Productions, founded by Tim Spidel, provides AVL production, set design, installation, and integration services for concerts, touring productions, houses of worship, corporate events, and permanent installations throughout the Southeast United States.
The CITYCHURCH deployment demonstrated the scalability of the dBTechnologies VIO platform in a large-capacity arena application, combining VIO L1610, L208, S218, and X205 systems within a single deployment to address primary coverage, supplemental audience areas, low-frequency reinforcement, and front-fill requirements.
