What Client Says

"With the new VIO L1608 we have deliberately gone for the next generation of the VIO series. The system won us over on its very first major outing at the CANALETTO Dresden City Festival: the L1608 combines a compact format with a punch and a clarity you would hardly expect from a cabinet this size."
Kai Hentschel [Project Manager at Bayer Events+

Dresden-based event technology company Bayer Events has expanded its line array inventory with 16 units of the new VIO L1608 from dBTechnologies. The compact three-way system made its high-profile debut in mid-August 2026 on one of the largest stages at CANALETTO, the Dresden City Festival, where hundreds of thousands of visitors once again turned the old town into a sprawling party zone. For Bayer Events, the festival was also the ideal opportunity to put the new VIO generation through its paces under real open-air conditions.

The setup at the CANALETTO Dresden City Festival on the Original Försters Bowleparty stage
For main coverage, Bayer Events flew an eight-box VIO L1608 line-array per side – 16 modules in total across the left and right hangs. Three VIO X206 handled infill duties, delivering seamless coverage in the near field and at the edges of the stage. The low end came from 16 VIO S118R subwoofers, ground-stacked in front of the stage to achieve controlled, even low-frequency coverage across the entire audience area. On stage, six VIO W15 served the live acts as high-output wedges.

The complete system was networked via the A2Net protocol and controlled centrally with A2Net Control. Aurora Net gave Bayer Events end-to-end real-time monitoring of every module, together with flexible, precise adjustment of levels and system parameters – even as the acoustic conditions shifted in the densely built-up surroundings of Dresden's old town.

"With the new VIO L1608 we have deliberately gone for the next generation of the VIO series. The system won us over on its very first major outing at the CANALETTO Dresden City Festival: the L1608 combines a compact format with a punch and a clarity you would hardly expect from a cabinet this size," says Kai Hentschel, Project Manager at Bayer Events. "We have worked successfully with dBTechnologies for many years, and we are pleased that the L1608 now makes us even more flexible."
