As part of its ongoing collaboration with Bologna FC 1909, dBTechnologies systems were selected for a distributed audio installation developed across the refined hospitality environments of Terrazza Bernardini and Volvo Area inside Stadio Renato Dall’Ara. The project, carried out by Radio Sata, was designed to deliver tonal consistency, controlled coverage, and discreet architectural integration throughout spaces dedicated to hospitality, dining, events, and entertainment.
At Terrazza Bernardini, the audio design had to adapt to a particularly distinctive layout composed of semi-private dining niches separated by architectural columns. The challenge was to maintain uniform sound distribution and musical continuity while preserving intimacy and avoiding excessive overlap between seating areas.
The system deployed throughout the terrace consists of 24 IS6T and 7 IS12S subwoofers.
The loudspeakers are distributed in configurations of either 2 or 3 IS6T units per niche, while the subwoofers are strategically positioned throughout the terrace area to ensure balanced low-frequency reinforcement and coherent energy distribution across the venue.
On the lower floor, Volvo Area required a more articulated multi-room approach, balancing background music, speech intelligibility, lounge atmosphere, and higher-energy event applications. The installation includes: 2 IS5T at the entrance area; 6 IS5T + 2 IS8S in the circular reception room; 5 IS5T + 2 subwoofers in the innermost lounge area; 5 IS5T in the double-height room. For DJ-oriented events and flexible live entertainment setups, a mobile configuration based on 2 VIO X206 + 2 VIO S115 was integrated into the system, allowing the venue to transition smoothly from hospitality-focused operation to higher-impact musical programming. The entire sound system is powered by 7 IA 3204D amplifiers, distributed across the two venues with 4 units dedicated to Terrazza Bernardini and 3 units serving Volvo.
“dBTechnologies shares with us important values such as innovation, quality, and a strong connection to the local territory,” says Christoph Winterling, Chief Revenues Officer of Bologna FC 1909. “The installation of the new audio systems in the Terrazza Bernardini and Volvo hospitality areas represents a further step in the club’s ongoing journey to enhance the stadium experience. We are proud to collaborate with an internationally recognized company born in Bologna and capable of exporting technology and expertise all over the world.”
The project further strengthens the partnership between Bologna FC 1909 and dBTechnologies, confirming a shared commitment to developing increasingly immersive and technologically advanced hospitality spaces. The new installations at Terrazza Bernardini and Volvo Area contribute to delivering a premium-quality audio experience for guests, partners, and supporters during both matchdays and corporate events.
