The multifunctional Meiersheide hall in Hennef (Germany) has set a new benchmark in sound quality by installing a cutting-edge audio system from the VIO series by dBTechnologies. The setup features two line arrays, each comprising 6x VIO L208 loudspeakers and one VIO S118 subwoofer—also flown—specifically tailored to accommodate the hall’s diverse range of events.
Existing subwoofers and the delay system were seamlessly integrated to ensure optimal sound coverage throughout the venue. The Meiersheide hall hosts various events and offers flexible configurations—from banquets for 410 guests to concerts with up to 1,200 attendees. With more than 30 events yearly, the new sound system ensures the venue is perfectly equipped to handle everything from concerts and corporate events to bespoke gatherings.
“With the new VIO system, we’ve significantly enhanced the sound quality at Meiersheide,” says Michael Kompauer, Technical Director at Meiersheide. “Thanks to the outstanding performance of the loudspeakers, we’re able to offer our guests an impressive listening experience—regardless of the event type.”
“The new VIO speakers provide both flexibility and maximum performance in the installed setup at Meiersheide,” adds Christian Strehl, Sales Application Engineer Install at dBTechnologies Deutschland GmbH. “Combining them with existing components posed no issue at all. The result is a system ready for any event and designed to require as little daily effort as possible.”
The installation was carried out by Wolfgang Meyer of Meyer Veranstaltungstechnik. “The system allows us to meet the level specifications outlined in DIN 15905-5 while still delivering powerful, regulation-compliant sound,” explains Meyer.
With its new VIO system, Meiersheide Hennef is now superbly equipped to continue hosting unforgettable events well into the future.
