What Client Says

“The sound system was built through a layered approach that scales loudspeaker type, placement, and processing to match each environment”; "The selection of the small speakers was planned to get the highest intelligibility possible, while remaining invisible, but also delivering all the soundscape detail needed.”

Tequila Town Miami is a 25,000-square-foot immersive multi-room venue located at Toledo Studios, conceived as a journey through the culture and heritage of tequila across a sequence of indoor and outdoor environments. Each space was designed with a distinct acoustic identity, requiring a distributed audio approach capable of adapting coverage, output, and tonal behavior while maintaining continuity throughout the entire experience.
The system was designed by Jorge Araiza and integrated by Jorge Matto with support from HWPco. Acoustic modeling was carried out using EASE Focus 3, while Aurora Net was implemented for system management and monitoring.

“The sound system was built through a layered approach that scales loudspeaker type, placement, and processing to match each environment,” says Montana Masback, Concept Developer and Strategic Planner of Tequila Town Miami.

Distributed coverage throughout hallways, foyers, and transitional areas is provided by IS4T WP and IS6T WP loudspeakers from the IS Series, selected for intelligibility, localization, and minimal visual impact. “The selection of the small speakers was planned to get the highest intelligibility possible, while remaining invisible, but also delivering all the soundscape detail needed,” Masback explains.

“The venue is a complex place full of small and medium spaces… the geometry of the rooms and the materials used in the building favor the acoustics most of the time—but each space still required careful control,” says Jorge Araiza. In acoustically challenging environments such as the tasting room, DSP optimization and loudspeaker placement adjustments were used to preserve clarity and conversational intelligibility. “Specific DSP filters and placement adjustments were applied to maintain clarity, ensuring the room could support both atmosphere and conversation,” Araiza adds.

The distillery space utilizes Ingenia IG3TR column systems to provide controlled vertical dispersion and minimize interaction with reflective surfaces while maintaining tonal consistency throughout the listening area. “This presented some challenges that required delay and other processing adjustments,” explains Araiza, referring to the flown subwoofer configuration used in the space. Inside the Cristalino Club, the system transitions to a higher-output reinforcement setup based on Opera Reevo 212 loudspeakers supported by SUB 918 subwoofers, designed for music-focused programming and dynamic playback.

For the Mercado performance area, a Fifty Line configuration with stacked tops and double subwoofer arrangements per side was deployed to deliver extended coverage and high SPL capability in a predominantly outdoor environment. “The system provides a balance of extremely high output, coverage, and deployment efficiency that aligns with both the acoustic demands and the spatial constraints of the Mercado… this is without a doubt where dBTechnologies kicks up the energy and allows the performances to shine,” says Oliver Battaglia, Eastern Regional Sales Manager, dBTechnologies USA.

Adjacent lounge areas are supported by additional IG3TR systems configured for controlled SPL and balanced coverage. “Something that works for a more laid-back atmosphere, a setting that’s perfect for an afternoon spent with tequila drinks,” Masback notes.

The temporary installation was developed around a flexible multi-zone infrastructure, integrating distributed audio, external DSP management, Aurora Net control, and IA Series amplification to adapt dynamically to the venue’s operational and acoustic requirements. Following commissioning, the system was further refined under real operating conditions. “After the initial installation…additional subs were placed, and fine-tuning of loudspeaker positions was carried out to refine system coherence,” concludes Araiza.
