VIO L212 has been chosen as PA for the live of the Italian rapper J-AX at the stage in Prato Nevoso (CN). The initiative celebrated the official opening of the winter season of the ski resort and was reached by about 15,000 people.
THE EVENT
On December 8 2018 dBTechnologies took part in a great show that was staged in an enchanting place, immersed by beautiful and soft snow and surrounded by the Maritime Alps of Piedmont: VIO L212, the full-scale line array flagship of the VIO Series, celebrated Winter ensuring perfect sound coverage during the live of the acclaimed Italian rapper J-AX.
An explosive event that has been marked by the greatest successes of the artist and the lively choruses of the audience, who has actively participated with joy and excitement to the official open of winter skiing season; our PA warmed up the cold and enchanted the atmosphere of Prato Nevoso Ski Season 2018, transforming the location into a real open-air disco.
The venue is located in a privileged and suggestive position, thanks to the particular conformation of the territory, enriched by an extraordinary panorama on the surrounding hills and on the Cuneo plain. In this context, the recent organization for the area is very active, encouraging the promotion of cultural and musical events able to attract not only the many fans of seasonal sports, but also a public ready to enjoy the many initiatives involving artists of the Italian music scene.
Thus, on the evening of this festive day Prato Nevoso was joined by fifteen thousand people excited about the arrival of J-AX, the founder of the historic band Articolo 31, veteran and leader of Italian rap scene.
THE ACOUSTIC PROJECT:
The organizers expected a total amount of 15000 people distributed in an area of about 100 m in depth. The configuration chosen consisted of a main PA of 12 VIO L212 per side and 18 subs VIO S218 processed in arc delay in order to obtain a front coverage of 70° dB. On stage, 2 VIO L208 plus 2 VIO S218 per side were used as sidefill.
THE COMMENTS:
Alessio Losito, managing director of Losito Music Service, the rental company in charge for sound&lights, expressed positive and enthusiastic opinions on the performance of the VIO L212 system, "J-AX's live performance is the first major event in which we test our new PA VIO L212. Personally, I am fully satisfied and I have to say that the promoters and many people in the audience, who were not informed about the new system, have noticed the difference with previous years; VIO L212 has provided excellent sound quality and, in particular, a higher sound pressure".
The outdoor venue, which was completely surrounded by snow, had extraordinary environmental and climatic conditions and in this regard Losito specifies, "It must be considered that this is in effect an outdoor production, with all the needs of a large live concert for thousands of people, but with the complication of being in a high altitude with snow. The choice of VIO helped us a lot because it is an active system, which ensures easier transport and installation and it’s equipped with trolleys that allow you to wire and preset the corners of the line array even before arriving on the spot. The transport and installation/removal of the subwoofers was also considerably facilitated, thanks to the possibility of placing them on the dollies in groups of two to two or three to three.
We welcome with great pleasure and enthusiasm the positive statements that describe our VIO L212 performance and we look forward to the next outdoor event planned on this venue, which, as Losito points out, "will attract an even wider audience, about 20,000 people, confirming the growth trend that I have seen over the years, starting in 2012".
