Original Försters Bowleparty Thrills at CANALETTO Dresden City Festival 2025 – Technical Highlights by Bayer Events and dBTechnologies
More than 600,000 visitors turned Dresden into one of the country’s biggest dance floors during the three-day CANALETTO Dresden City Festival. From 15 to 17 August 2025, the legendary Original Försters Bowleparty once again transformed Dresden’s historic city centre into a top-class party hotspot. A staple of the festival programme since 1996, the much-loved event drew thousands of revellers to the square in front of the Taschenbergpalais Kempinski. With electrifying DJ beats, a vibrant atmosphere and its iconic party vibe, the Bowleparty kept the crowds celebrating from Friday through Sunday.
The full technical production – including stage, lighting, sound and LED – was delivered by event technology specialist Bayer Events, who impressed with flawless execution. Adding to the party atmosphere was state-of-the-art audio technology from dBTechnologies. Several systems from the renowned Italian manufacturer’s VIO Series were deployed: VIO L210 line array modules provided the main sound reinforcement, complemented by VIO S118R subwoofers. Additional VIO L210 units were used as front fills to ensure optimum sound coverage even in the nearfield.
Perfect sound for an unforgettable party
The dBTechnologies VIO L210 is an active two-way line array system featuring 1800 W RMS amplification and up to 135 dB SPL – delivering power, clarity and speech intelligibility ideally suited for large-scale open-air events. Controlled via Aurora Net software, Bayer Events ensured precise sound distribution and flexible system tuning, even under changing conditions.
“The Original Försters Bowleparty stage has become a tradition at the Dresden City Festival and a cult event in the city and beyond. The VIO systems deliver with absolute precision, providing the punch and low frequencies you need – and that audiences expect – from a DJ stage,” explains Kai Hentschel, Project Manager at Bayer Events, reflecting on the successful deployment.
