Club Moritzino, an icon of Alta Badia and a symbol of high-altitude hospitality, opens the 2025/2026 season with a new dBTechnologies audio system designed to enhance a location internationally renowned for its rare beauty, historic welcome, and ability to offer every guest premium dining and the most exclusive Dolomite vibes. The outdoor area — the beating heart and musical soul of Moritzino — required a system capable of combining power, aesthetic integration, and tonal consistency in an environment as evocative as it is complex.
The debut of the new system featured an exceptional and highly acclaimed guest: Benny Benassi, who inaugurated the season with an exclusive DJ set, putting the entire dBTechnologies audio infrastructure to the test and delivering an intense, evenly distributed sonic experience.
The design and installation of the sound system were entrusted to AudioTec, starting from the stage, the core of Moritzino’s musical performances:
the main array consists of 3 IS26T units per side, for a total of 6, supported by 1 IS26T per side as sidefills. The outfill uses 1 IS210T on the left side of the stage and 2 IS210T combined with 2 IS118S on the right; 4 IS118S are positioned under the stage.
In the outdoor bar area, 2 VIO S118 in cardioid configuration are installed, along with 1 IS210T mounted on the venue’s front façade for wide and even coverage. The entrance to the IQOS dome is covered by 2 IS26T, while indoors, 2 VIO S118 and 2 VIO SUB 918 ensure consistent pressure and tonal continuity in enclosed spaces.
The entire system is powered by 5 IA3204D amplifiers and managed via Aurora Net, ensuring total control and precise calibration.
Dietmar Steiner, responsible for integrating the new resident audio system, stated:
“The installation of the dBTechnologies IS series at Moritzino proved particularly efficient thanks to a design that simplifies every phase of the setup. The mounting solutions are intuitive and robust, allowing for precise placement even in architecturally complex spaces. The available presets were a key advantage: they provide a balanced sonic foundation from the very first startup, reducing tuning time and ensuring consistent response across all areas. The IP55 certification adds an essential layer of safety for outdoor use, protecting the loudspeakers from the elements and ensuring reliable performance in demanding conditions.
From a sonic point of view, choosing elements from the same series ensures full tonal consistency. This makes the system extremely harmonious and simplifies optimization, as every speaker integrates naturally with the others. Another aspect I particularly appreciated is the system’s scalability: the IS series allows us to expand or reorganize the setup while maintaining uniformity and quality — an ideal feature for a dynamic environment like Moritzino, where needs can change quickly depending on events and seasonal configurations.”
Thomas Dorsi, Artistic Director and Resident DJ at Club Moritzino, described the project’s goals and how the choice of this system aligns with the venue’s philosophy:
“After eight years overseeing Moritzino’s artistic direction and sound, I wanted a system capable of bringing identity and consistency to all areas. Choosing a single-brand solution was natural: we needed uniform coverage for the three main areas, plus a fourth dedicated to private events. I’ve seen firsthand that dBTechnologies is not just a brand, but a team of professionals focused on the client — a major strength for the success of the project. With dBTechnologies, we were able to delve deeply into the design, analyzing each area through dedicated acoustic measurements and calibrating the system based on our real needs. This allowed us to determine the most suitable coverage solutions for our environment, which is anything but simple. What struck me most about the finished project is the union between the array’s aesthetics and the sound quality. The white finish recalls the surrounding snow and blends perfectly with the landscape, creating a chromatic contrast with other outdoor elements that reflects the venue’s vibrant spirit. And then there’s the punch. Some systems sound loud, others sound clean — but very few give you that punch in the stomach, that physical impact that makes the music feel alive. Here, I have it. And that’s what truly makes the difference.”
